Wagner Celebrates Founder

In May 2007 it will be 60 years since the foundation of Wagner Vertriebsgesellschaft mbH“ took place in Friedrichshafen, giving birth to one of today’s world leading companies in surface coating. On 10th March 2007 Josef Wagner, founder of the international WAGNER-Group, would have been 100 years old.

This double anniversary is a reason for the WAGNER-Group to recognize the life achievement of Josef Wagner in an exhibition of the company’s story.

In the original setting of the WAGNER country house the personality of the gifted engineer Josef Wagner becomes clear in all its single mindedness, its innovativeness and its pronounced social commitment. His constant concern was to put new ideas into industrial practice and thus make them useful to the general public. In this way he made his mark throughout the world on the development of surface coating technology, as can easily be followed from the exhibits displayed. From the first airless high pressure spray gun „Whisker“ (1953) through his groundbreaking and very successful own developments for the trade, right up to innovative, large industrial installations.

The exhibition can be seen in the Landhaus WAGNER, Klufterner Straße 85, in Friedrichshafen-Fischbach on Lake Constance. Visits and guided tours up to the end of June on request.
