Atlasでは、従来のストーブ内部のパーツのエナメル塗装が手動だったため、製品の不均一な塗装表面が発生し、売上に影響を及ぼしていました。表面洗浄といった手直しや廃棄が多く、作業コストを引き上げ、当時使用されていたブースの限られた生産能力をさらに制限していました。これによりAtlasでは新商品を市場に出すということは不可能な状況でした。
