55,555 euros for disadvantaged children

In the lead up to Christmas 2021 the J. Wagner GmbH company together with its employees started a big campaign for donations in support of the Kinderstiftung Bodensee (Lake Constance children’s charity) to help disadvantaged children and young people in the area. The employees were able to transfer money direct to Kinderstiftung Bodensee or donate their residual leave or flextime. A donation box was also on hand for cash donations.

Awesome! Collective campaign for donations enables new project at the Kinderstiftung Bodensee Lake Constance children’s charity

Of course, the company itself also took part and made clear right from the start that it would double the amount collected. The monetary value of the Christmas celebrations that had been saved because of the fallout from the pandemic was also contributed.

And the company did not stop there. In the end, the directors rounded up the total amount received to a nice “tidy” sum, meaning that collectively we donated a total of 55,555 euros to Kinderstiftung Bodensee. This figure was made possible by lots of small and large donations. Our colleague Sandra Thiede made an especially noteworthy contribution: She went so far as to donate 50 of her flextime hours for the project.

“This is an unbelievable result that we never expected”, enthused Maren Dronia, project manager at Kinderstiftung Bodensee. “We’d like to thank J. Wagner GmbH and all of your employees who so generously supported the campaign! We can do so much good for the children with this amount of money.”

“We started the Christmas donations campaign to do something good together as a company. It was clear from the start that we wanted to support a project in our own locality” said Veronika Daue GVP Human Resources DF. “Working together, the whole team at J. Wagner GmbH has done something amazing here – we had not counted on raising so much in donations, but are delighted to have done so” continued Jaqueline Schiele GVP Human Resources IS. “With the donations collected and the contribution from the company we can start a wonderful project with Kinderstiftung Bodensee and help children and young people in the local area!”

Because the aim is to use the money donated to give rise to a new project: The “Creating Possibilities” project promotes individual, intangible, and extracurricular activities in the fields of music, sport, and culture, giving children and young people from the Lake Constance region the chance to take part in club activities, to learn a musical instrument or to attend a holiday activity. In this way, the personal skills of the children and young people are nurtured, participation enabled, and individual talents developed.

“With the ‘Creating Possibilities’ project and thanks to the financial support of J. Wagner GmbH, Kinderstiftung Bodensee can add another pillar to our existing projects with the aim of alleviating the intangible hardship faced by children and young people in the Lake Constance region and supporting their personal development. The Christmas campaign for donations at WAGNER in Markdorf and its awesome result of 55,555 euros makes it possible to give this project the best possible start and to secure the first months and years of its life. For this, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the directors, managers, and workers on behalf of our charity” said Kinderstiftung Bodensee’s managing director, Petra Demmer.
